Maya Spiritual Healing

The Maya, as with many traditional cultures, recognize diseases of the soul as well as the body and are aware that there are both spiritual and physical causes of illness. Modern medicine is beginning to catch up with the healing wisdom of the Maya and other cultures and numerous scientific studies have noted a connection between many diseases such as high blood pressure, arthritis, heart disease, cancer, etc. and unresolved emotional stress. At the same time, neuroscience is explaining how brain chemistry affects our mental and emotional states.

For 13 years, Dr. Rosita Arvigo apprenticed with Don Elijio Panti, one of the last traditional Maya shaman in Belize, Central America. It was during her apprenticeship that Rosita learned the massage techniques and spiritual healing that have become renowned.

Maya Spiritual Healing consists of prayer (appropriate to your faith), spiritual herbal baths through aspersion, and incense that serve to re-balance and harmonize the human aura or energy field so that we can attract good into our lives and repel what does not serve our highest purpose.

This healing work addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies of each individual in such a way as to return that person to vitality, peace and well-being. Thus, we are better able to lay down the baggage from the past and realize our fullest potential as intended by our Divine Creator.
Spiritual healing leaves the person calm, more centred and reflective. Each person’s experience will be their own unique transformation.

Everyone, from baby to adult, benefits from spiritual healing. It is very difficult to go through life without having experienced some form of trauma or grief – car accidents, burglaries, bullying, severe illness, death of a loved one, relationship break up, a broken heart, abuse of all kinds, or difficulties at work or with family or friends.
Spiritual healing is across the religions and is practiced in every religion. One only needs to have faith in a higher power to receive the benefits.

The Maya people held the number 9 as sacred and suggested a series of 9 baths. Some of these could be undertaken at home by yourself.

Where appropriate, space clearing for your home or office may also be suggested.
